When prospective buyers come to see the home, the front of the home is the first thing they see.  Make it inviting; get your arsenal of work horses keyed up for the task at hand.  You will more than likely need a landscaper, but here are 14 tricks for curb appeal.

  1. Have the yard and shrubs manicured perfectly.
  2. Make sure all walkways, driveways and the entry areas are clean and not cluttered.
  3. See that cement areas are clean and free of grease or oil spots.
  4. Make sure cars, especially junkers that don’t run, are not parked in driveway, or in adjacent parking areas.
  5. Provide color to the front yard and home by planting flowers in the flowerbeds or in flower pots around the exterior of the home.
  6. Try to make the interior of the home visible from the exterior.
  7. Make sure the gutters are cleaned out.
  8. Make all windows crystal clean.
  9. Make sure front of home is clean and free from chipped paint.
  10. Grass must be well trimmed and edged at all times.
  11. Make sure all lights work properly.
  12. Make the entryway feel warm and inviting.
  13. Try to make the home feel inviting and warm without being cluttered.
  14. Make sure that children toys, games and/or bicycles are not cluttering the driveway.
