Rovey Farm Estates
In 1942, when he returned home from graduating college at the University of Arizona, Emil Rovey purchased the first acreage of what is now Rovey Dairy. Located a mile and a half from State Farm Stadium, which sits on a third of what used to be Rovey land, is the community of Rovey Farm Estates. Growing the majority of what they feed the cows, sheep, and lamb, the farm has evolved over the years. While they are still growing their market, they are selling to local restaurants. Emil’s son, Paul, and several of his children still work on the farm today. One even runs a hair salon on the property. Across the freeway from Rovey Farm is the site of their processing plant that produces ice cream and yogurt, and they also make cheese. The Rovey family has farmed in various locations around the valley, and further north, for decades.
