In 1970, Sunburst Farms was established by Hallcraft Homes. Marketed as a community that offered “farm living within the city limits”, Sunburst Farms provided a quick ‘take-off’ to Northern Arizona for winter sports, fishing, and hunting.” Buyers were even offered the option of purchasing adjoining lots to expand their homestead being built on an acre of land complete with irrigation. At the time, homes in the Phoenix area sold for $16,300 while homes in Sunburst Farms ranged from $30,000 to $35,000. This community is near the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and the Arizona State University West Campus and is a short drive away from the I-17 and 101 Freeways, which makes getting around a breeze.

Because of its location to major freeways, there isn’t a shortage of things to check out nearby. Peoria Sports Complex is a short ride away while State Farm Stadium and Westgate Entertainment District are just a 20-minute drive. Acoma, Kings, and Chapparal Parks are a few that are close by to this community. The Paseo Racquet Center and Arrowhead Country Club are also just around the corner. Costco and Trader Joe’s are down the road along with plenty of options for dining, such as Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Oregano’s Pizza Bistro, and In-and-Out Burger. When it comes to shopping, there is North Valley Shopping Center, which has a Target and Home Goods. Arrowhead Towne Center is also option that has stores like Apple, lululemon, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Falling into two school districts, the Peoria Unified School District and Glendale Union High School District, there are plenty of choices for great schools near Sunburst Farms. Schools like Foothills Elementary and Cactus High School are a couple that fall within the Peoria Unified School District while Desert Foothills Middle School and Greenway High School fall within the Glendale Union High School District.
