Construction of homes in Sunland Village started in 1974. This active 55+ adult community is the second of four Farnsworth developments in the East Valley. There are around 4,000 year-round and seasonal residents that occupy 2,685 single family homes. All homes are single family individual homes, Villas and condos. Some of the amenities here include a golf course, pickleball courts, tennis courts, and swimming pool. They also offer many clubs and groups for those with special interests.

There are a lot of things to do close to Sunland Village. Superstition Springs Center and Costco are a short drive from this community, as are many parks and golf courses. Crossroads Park and Monterey Park are nearby, as are places to golf, like Desert Sands Golf Center and the Arizona Golf Resort & Event Center. With the location of this community being close to major Valley freeways like the 202, 60, and 24, you can easily get to places Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, as well as the Queen Creek Olive Mill and Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek. There is a Topgolf 15 minutes from this community while the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is just southwest of the intersection of the 202 and 24 freeways. Sky Harbor Airport is about 30 minutes away.
