Tatum Highlands
Tatum Highlands was established in 2001 and the 1,400 homes in this neighborhood were constructed by eight different builders. Featuring a large grassy area, large multi-age playground, ramadas, a picnic area, and basketball court is a community called John Teets Park. The location of this community is in the heart of wonderful places, such as North Phoenix, Cave Creek and Carefree, as well as North Scottsdale.

There are two shopping centers nearby to this community at the intersection of Cave Creek Rd and Tatum Blvd, which are home to Safeway and Fry’s Food and Drug Store , along with restaurants and retail stores. The area also has three more commercial shopping centers in the area – Tuscany Village, Shops at Tatum Ranch and Dynamite Creek. High Street is a smaller shopping center with retail shops and restaurants that is located just east of Desert Ridge Marketplace, an outdoor mall with dozens of restaurants and retail stores, as well as a splash pad. Cave Buttes Recreation Area is just west of Cave Creek Road, Reach 11 Sports Complex is slightly south while Cave Creek Regional Park northwest, just before the unincorporated community of New River.
Schools in Tatum Highlands
Serving the Tatum Highlands community north of Jomax Road, as well as the Diamond Creek community, is the Cave Creek Unified School District. Schools assigned to the homes here are Horseshoe Trails Elementary, Desert Sun Academy, Sonoran Trails Middle, and Cactus Shadows High School. For homes south of Jomax Road, children will attend schools that are a part of the award-winning Paradise Valley School District. Wildfire Elementary, Explorer Middle and Pinnacle High School are the schools assigned to this area.
